What are Honor Bands?
District VI provides an exciting opportunity for student musicians in Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, and St. Bernard Parishes to enrich their musical journey beyond their school programs. Through the honor band experience, students in grades 4 - 12 can audition, rehearse, and perform alongside some of the most talented young musicians in the area.
Students can choose from a variety of ensembles, including Concert Bands and Jazz Bands, offered at the Elementary, Junior High, and Senior High levels. This program fosters growth, collaboration, and a unique chance to make music with a wider community of dedicated peers.
We have multiple All State Ensembles (including concert band, jazz band, orchestra, choir, and guitar ensemble).
